This course on Compassion Fatigue has been designed for any person who provides care for another – the physician, the nurse, the police officer, teacher, spouse and every person in between. The course uses musical analysis, research, and personalized journal exercises to assist learners in exploring preventative strategies and recovery techniques to remedy the harsh symptoms of Compassion Fatigue – the cost of caring.

Desired Outcomes:
• Identify major and minor causes of Compassion Fatigue.
• Apply research-based principles to prevent Compassion Fatigue in personal and professional relationships.
• Synthesize research on Compassion Fatigue and apply it to correct behaviors that lead to Compassion
Fatigue.
• Evaluate maladaptive behaviors and thought patterns that contribute to Compassion Fatigue.
• Analyze musical soundtrack provided to meet course outcomes 1-4

Upon Completion of this course, you should be able to:

symptoms.
• Define and understand the differences between compassion fatigue and burnout and how each impact YOU
differently.
